Martha began dancing at the early age of two and a half years. Over the years, she has studied various dance styles, including jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, modern, contemporary jazz and hip hop dancing. In 2006, Martha was chosen as a contestant for the second season of FOX's So You Think You Can Dance.
